How to Cancel YouTube Music Premium on Web

You can cancel your subscription in a few steps using your preferred web browser.

  • Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships in your browser of choice and sign in, if necessary.
  • Click Manage membership next to YouTube Music Premium.
  • Click Deactivate.
  • You’ll get the option to pause your subscription. Click CONTINUE TO CANCEL.
  • Select your reason for canceling and then click Next.
  • Click Yes, cancel.

How to Cancel YouTube Music on the Mobile App

Managing your subscription via the Android or iOS app is just as straightforward as doing so in a web browser. The screenshots below are from an iPhone, but the process is nearly identical to Android.

Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships in your browser of choice and sign in, if necessary.

Click Manage membership next to YouTube Music Premium.

Click Deactivate.

You’ll get the option to pause your subscription. Click CONTINUE TO CANCEL.

Select your reason for canceling and then click Next.

Click Yes, cancel.

  • Open the YouTube Music app.
  • Tap your profile picture.
  • Tap Paid memberships.
  • Select YouTube Music Premium.
  • If you’re on an iPhone and don’t see an active subscription, you might have to cancel through the App Store.
  • Tap Deactivate.
  • Tap CONTINUE TO CANCEL.
  • Choose a reason from the list and tap Next.
  • Tap YES, CANCEL.

How to Pause YouTube Music Premium on Desktop

You can pause your YouTube Music Premium membership for one to six months, and you can cancel during that time. The pause begins at the end of the current billing cycle. You can un-pause your membership before the scheduled resume date.

Open the YouTube Music app.

Tap your profile picture.

Tap Paid memberships.

Select YouTube Music Premium.

If you’re on an iPhone and don’t see an active subscription, you might have to cancel through the App Store. 

Tap Deactivate.

Tap CONTINUE TO CANCEL.

Choose a reason from the list and tap Next.

Tap YES, CANCEL.

Pause Your Membership on a Desktop

The instructions for pausing your membership are almost the same as canceling it.

  • Visit youtube.com/paid_memberships and sign in, if prompted.
  • Click Manage membership.
  • Click Deactivate.
  • Click PAUSE INSTEAD.
  • Select how many months you want to pause your membership for using the slider, then hit PAUSE MEMBERSHIP.
  • To resume your membership, go to youtube.com/paid_memberships and click Manage membership > RESUME.
  • Click Resume on the confirmation message.

Pause Your Membership in the App

The process for pausing and un-pausing your account is similar for Android and iOS.

Visit youtube.com/paid_memberships and sign in, if prompted.

Click Manage membership.

Click PAUSE INSTEAD.

Select how many months you want to pause your membership for using the slider, then hit PAUSE MEMBERSHIP.

To resume your membership, go to youtube.com/paid_memberships and click Manage membership > RESUME.

Click Resume on the confirmation message.
