Uninstalling Android apps can be a time-consuming process, but there’s a quicker way to get rid of them in bulk: by downloading another app. The object might defeat the purpose, but it’s worth adding one app to get rid of many more.

You might be surprised at the sheer amount of junk apps that can be collected over the years. It’s easy to forget to delete them completely, and they do start to add up over time. Of course, they all take up precious memory that could be used for more important things.

Deleting them one by one is possible, but what’s the point when an app can do the work for you? It’s easy enough once you know how, and we’ve written a short tutorial to get you started. Here’s the quickest way to delete multiple apps on Android using an unrooted device.

How to uninstall Android apps in bulk

Note: you don’t have to use another app to remove the apps. However, it is quicker to do it with an app than doing it manually from your App menu in the Settings.

There are a number of apps that can be used to get rid of the pain that comes with uninstalling multiple apps at the same time. Easy Uninstaller is a free option found on the Play Store, although it does come with ads. (You won’t be able to get rid of pre-installed apps, but you will be able to get rid of any you’ve added along the way.) We’ll be using Easy Uninstaller for the tutorial below, but there are many more to choose from.

Once you’re ready to get started:

  1. Download and open the app on your Android device.

  2. Once you’ve opened Easy Uninstaller, you’ll see a list with all of the apps on your device.

  3. Check the boxes next to the apps that you want to get rid of. (You can use the menu button located in the bottom-right corner to sort the apps in different ways, such as by name, size or date downloaded. You can scroll up and down to see more.)

  4. Once you’re ready, tap the large “Uninstall” button located at the bottom of the screen.

  5. You’ll get a prompt to confirm the uninstallation of each application. Tap OK to continue.

  6. Your device will quickly uninstall all of the selected apps.

  7. Tap Done or just exit the app. You should now have some extra space on your device, as well as your Home screen.

Conclusion

As you can see, it’s not that difficult to quickly remove multiple apps from your device. If you don’t like the look of Easy Installer, there are many alternatives on the market, or you can pay to have adverts removed if you find them intrusive during use. There’s not much point though, even if you download and delete apps regularly.

If your device is affected by malware or dodgy downloads, it can sometimes be the best way to completely remove an infected app from your device, and normal methods don’t always work correctly. There are many reasons why it makes sense to delete unused apps regularly. It doesn’t have to be a pain, and it should only take a few taps to get them sorted.

Many apps collect a vast amount of user data, regardless of whether or not they’re in use, and it’s something else to think about. If you’re not using an app or you’ve disabled it already, why not follow through and get rid of the thing completely? You can usually download it again if you want to at a later date.

It’s true that users with root access to their device have more options in terms of getting rid of apps. Even so, it’s not necessary if you just want to get them off your device quickly and easily. It’s ironic, but it’s best to use an app.
