AOL Mail includes a smart tool that checks for and corrects spelling mistakes. Here’s how to set up AOL Mail to use this tool automatically on each outgoing email message you send.

What to Know

  • In AOL Mail, go to Options > Mail Settings > Compose. Tick the Check spelling before sending messages checkbox. Choose Save Settings.
  • You can access Mail on the AOL website or directly via mail.aol.com.
  • Automatic spell-checking is not available with the AOL app for mobile devices.

Set Up Automatic Spell Check in Outgoing AOL Mail

To check the spelling on each outgoing email automatically:

  • Open a web browser, go to mail.aol.com, and log in. Or, go to AOL.com and select Mail.
  • Select Options and choose Mail Settings.
  • In the left pane, select Compose.
  • In the Sending section, select the Check spelling before sending messages check box.
  • Select Save Settings.
